Navigation & Search
Navigate ChemRefer's website using the links at the top of this page. Librarians and researchers may find
the customisable RSS feeds especially useful. Enter a query in the search box (top left). This straightforward search
interface brings enormous flexibility and simplicity to the search process. However, more advanced search capabilities are available for users requiring more
specific options. Note that the basic search option will search the full text of 50,000+ articles with just
one click of the mouse.
Search Tips
ChemRefer supports both the * and ? wildcards. Place a hyphen before the search term to exclude it from your search.
Enclose your query in speech marks to perform an exact phrase search. Note the difference between this and the Boolean
"Match All Search Words" option shown beneath the search box. Search results include the title, author, citation and
copyright information above a context description (or 'snippet') from the full text document. This allows you to
instantly identify the articles listed and so help you better determine whether they are relevant to your research.
'Mouseover' Detailed View
When you hover your mouse over a search result, a more detailed description of that article plus extra search options will
appear on the right of the page. This includes a link to the article, a link to the publisher website as well as similar
articles and author search options.
